GREEN MEANS GO (JONESBORO)

On April 14, 2021, Officer N Siefken was dispatched to the scene of an accident at the intersection of Tara Boulevard and Robert E. Lee Parkway.

A Hyundai Elantra driven by Ms. J Woodward and a Honda Odyssey driven by Ms. M Eason collided when they collided at the traffic signal at the intersection at approximately 9.48pm.

Ms. Eason stated that she was traveling east on Robert E. Lee Parkway approaching Tara Boulevard and when the light turned green for her, she entered the intersection.

Ms. J Woodward stated through a translator due to her being deaf, that she was traveling south on Tara Boulevard towards Robert E. Lee intersection. She understood that the signal was green for her and that Ms. Eason had not fully stopped her vehicle at the signal.

On reviewing camera footage from 8525 and 8501 Tara Boulevard, it was confirmed that the signal for Ms. Woodward was red, and green for Ms. Eason, giving her right of way.

The weather was cloudy, and the surface condition was wet.

There was extensive damage to both vehicles and were removed by Tara Wreckers.

Both Ms. Woodward and her passenger Ms. C Boyd were transported to Southern Regional Hospital by Clayton County EMS R4 personnel.

A female passenger in Ms. Eason’s vehicle refused to identify herself and was therefore excluded from the accident report.

The accident was reported by the Jonesboro Police Department.
