I helped my stepson buy a car in 2015 and was anxious to see him build a life for himself as a young adult. Two days after we secured the sale of the car, he was involved in an accident in downtown Lawrenceville which totaled the vehicle. He was stopped at a red light and then proceeded into the intersection after the light turned green. A car speeding through the intersection struck his vehicle and slammed it into a utility pole.
Fortunately, no one was injured. However, there were no witnesses to the accident and the reporting officer did not assign blame nor ticket either driver.
But things only got worse from there.
The other driver blamed accident on my stepson and sought damages from our insurance company. although the other car had sped through a red light at an intersection. The case went into arbitration before finally being settled with payments being sent to the other driver.
That was not the end of the story for us unfortunately. Our insurance premiums immediately went up. Particularly for a young male under the age of 25 with an auto accident, the cost was heavy for our son.
Since then, I have become passionate about roadways, intersections, and dangerous driving habits in the greater Atlanta area. I gained a keen eye for situations that are confusing or dangerous. I began documenting these areas in my head and talking about them to anyone who would listen.
Eventually this passion led me to build a website to share this vision with others in our community.
