Per John's Creek Police Reports, on January 7, 2023, Abhinav Deshmukh of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Gustavo Perez Rausseo of Atlanta, Georgia, were involved in an accident at the intersection of Kimball Bridge Road and State Bridge Road.
Deshmukh told the reporting officer that he was driving eastbound on Old Milton Parkway in the left-hand lane. He stated that he had a green light as he was approaching the intersection Kimball Bridge Road and State Bridge Road. He continued by saying that a white sedan struck his vehicle when he was in the middle of the of the intersection.
The officer then interviewed the driver of the white sedan, Perez Rausseo. He told the officer that he had a green light to travel both straight or turn left on to State Bridge Road. Then Deshmukh's vehicle drove through the intersection causing the accident.
Given the conflicting accounts, the officer then found a third party who did not know either driver. His name was Marc Rubenstein who was also at the intersection at the time of the collision. He stated that there was a green light to take a left on State Bridge Road and straight onto Kimball Road. This corroborated Perez Rausseo's story. Rubenstein went on to say that the red sedan driven by Deshmukh ran the red light and witnessed other drivers swerve to avoid a collision.
The reporting officer gave a citation to Deshmukh for failure to obe traffic control devices in violation of OCGA 40-6-20.
