Accident on Simonton Rd Caused by Poor Driver Judgment (Lawrenceville)

On April 26, 2021 Officer M West was dispatched to the scene of an accident at the intersection of Simonton Road and Grayson Highway.

A Honda CRV-Ex driven by Mr. A Azizi and a Mercedes B driven by Ms. S Robinson were involved in a collision.

Mr. Azizi was stopped in the left turning lane of Simonton Road facing Grayson Highway.

Ms. Robinson was traveling west on Simonton Road, preparing to cross the intersection with Grayson Highway.

Mr. Azizi attempted to merge right from the left turning lane into the center lane.

He misjudged the distance, and the passenger side of Mr. Azizi’s vehicle struck the driver’s side of Ms. Robinson’s vehicle.

Slight damage was caused to Mr. Azizi’s vehicle and moderate damage was caused to Ms. Robinson’s vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

Both vehicles were removed by their respective drivers.

The weather, surface conditions and light conditions were good.

Mr. Azizi was cited in terms of O.C.G.A. “Improper Lane Change”.

The accident was reported in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County.
