Brand New Car Gets into an Accident on Sugarloaf Parkway (Lawrenceville)

On June 8, 2021, Officer B Conneely was dispatched to the scene of an accident on Sugarloaf Parkway east of Scenic Highway.

The accident occurred at 17:50.

Ms. L Cooper was driving a Pontiac G6, and Ms. K Hickman was driving a Ford Escape.

Both vehicles were traveling in the left through lane of Sugarloaf Parkway westbound.

Ms. Hickman had stopped for traffic when Ms. Cooper’s vehicle rear-ended her vehicle.

Ms. Cooper sustained a cut on her left arm but denied transport to hospital.

Ms. Hickman did not sustain any injury.

Ms. Cooper’s vehicle sustained extensive damage and was removed by Lane Wrecker.

Ms. Hickman’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and she removed the vehicle herself.

Ms. Cooper stated that she had just purchased the vehicle and did not have insurance cover.

She was cited in terms of O.C.G.A. 40-6-49 “Following too closely” and O.C.G.A. 40-6-10(b) “No insurance”.

The weather was cloudy, and surface conditions and light conditions were good.

The accident was reported in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County.
