On May 27, 2021, Officer S Justus was dispatched to the scene of an accident at the intersection of College Street and South McDonough Street.
The accident occurred at 21:43.
Mr. M Barriteau was driving a Kia SUV and Ms. A Grant was driving an Acura MDX MP.
Mr. Barriteau stated that he was traveling southbound on South McDonough Street and was halted at the stop sign at College Street.
As he proceeded through the intersection, he struck Ms. Grant’s vehicle which was traveling eastbound on College Street through the intersection.
Ms. Grant advised that she was pregnant and had her three minor children in the vehicle.
She and her children were evacuated by medical personnel, Medic 13, but were not transported to hospital.
Slight damage was caused to both vehicles which were removed by their respective drivers.
The weather was cloudy, the surface condition was good, and the light condition was dark: not lighted.
Mr. Barriteau was cited for “Failure to yield right of way”.
The accident was reported in Jonesboro, Clayton County.
