Distracted Driving Leads to Accident (Rockdale)

On April 13th 2025, Wykeshia Houser and Jamie Rhem were involved in an automobile accident on Iris Drive in Rockdale County.

Houser stated she was headed Eastbound on Iris Drive when she got distracted by her phone and looked away from the road, causing her to swerve into the opposite lane of traffic. This resulted in a head on collision with Rhem's vehicle that was traveling the opposite direction on Iris Drive. A standardized field sobriety test indicated that Houser was driving under the influence and was cited and arrested at the scene.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. Houser was deemed at fault for the accident and was cited with DUI.
