Distracted While Driving Leads to Accident (Union City)

On March 22nd 2025, Jony Calex and Nutaja Beasley were involved in an accident on State Route 138 in Union City.

Calex was traveling Eastbound on SR-138. Calex advised to police on the scene that he was on his cell phone while his car struck Beasley's vehicle. Beasley stated she was stopped at the red light when her car was struck from the rear. Both vehicles sustained functional damage from the accident. Calex was found at fault for the accident and was cited with distracted driving (operation of a wireless telephone device).
