Driver Following Too Closely Leads to an Accident on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd (Lawrenceville)

On July 07, 2021, Officer J Cumbie was dispatched to the scene of an accident at the intersection of Lawrenceville Suwanee Road and Professional Drive.

The accident occurred at 14:00.

Ms. M Lozada was driving a Toyota Corolla and Ms. M Harris was driving a Kia Sorento.

Both vehicles were traveling south on Lawrenceville Suwanee Road approaching the intersection of Professional Drive.

Ms. Lozada’s vehicle was behind Ms. Harris’ vehicle when Ms. Harris brought her vehicle to a sudden stop.

Ms. Harris stated that the vehicle in front of her stopped and she stopped behind it safely.

Ms. Lozada was unable to stop in time and rear-ended Ms. Harris’ vehicle.

Ms. Harris and her passenger Ms. D Martindale (11) complained of back pain but refused to be transported to the medical center.

Ms. Lozada was uninjured.

Ms. Lozada’s vehicle sustained extensive damage and was removed by Lance Wrecker.

Ms. Harris removed her own vehicle.

Ms. Lozada was cited in terms of O.C.G.A. 40-6-49 “Following too closely”.

The weather was cloudy, and the surface condition and light conditions were good.

The accident was reported in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County.
