Per Douglasville Police Reports, on October 12, 2022 Mary Fortenberry of Ranburne, Alabama, and Brandon Coffie of Douglasville, Georgia, were involved in accident.
Fortenberry told the reporting officer that she was traveling southbound on Chicago Avenue and prepared to turn left on W. Strickland Street. She stated that she did not see Coffie coming due to her being on her phone.
Coffie told the officers that Fortenberry did not stop at the stop sign and caused the accident. Coffie's car ended up hitting a light pole.
Fortenberry was found at fault and arrested. She was cited for DUI, distracted driving, failure to yield, and driving with a suspended license.
