Failure to Yield at an Intersection Leads to an Accident on Terrell Mill Rd (Cobb)

On July 13, 2021, Officer C N Pinkston was dispatched to the scene of an accident at the intersection of Terrell Mill Road and Water Place.

The accident occurred at 16:35.

Ms. A Alves de Araujo was driving a Nissan Pathfinder and Ms. A de Regular was driving a Honda Accord.

Ms. de Araoujo stated that she was traveling north on Water Place towards Terrell Mill Road and stopped her vehicle at the red light at the intersection.

As she believed Ms. de Regular’s vehicle was at a safe distance, Ms. de Araujo made a right turn into the intersection, where her vehicle was struck by Ms. de Regular’s vehicle.

Ms. de Regular stated that Ms. Araujo’s vehicle failed to yield at the intersection and entered her lane of travel.

Ms. de Regular was unable to stop her vehicle intime to avoid a collision.

Ms. de Regular complained of neck pain but was not transported for medical treatment.

Ms.de Araujo was not injured.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were removed by their respective owners.

Ms. de Araujo was cited in terms of O.C.G.A. 40-6-72 “Failure to stop at a stop sign”.

The weather, surface condition and light conditions were all good.

The accident was reported in Cobb County.
