Flat Bed Trailer Backs into a Car on Hubert Martin Road

On the evening of March 1, 2021, per Forsyth County Police Reports Officer S W Jones was dispatched to the scene of an accident on Hubert Martin Road.

A Mazda 3 Hatchback driven by Mr. Andrew Priego was traveling south on Hubert Martin Road when he observed a flatbed semi-trailer driven by Mr. Cecil Albritton backing out from the premises of a work site. The semi-detached trailer was properly outfitted with the required flashing lights and reflective tape.

M. Priego stopped his vehicle in the roadway but in Mr. Albritton’s blind spot. Mr. Albritton saw Mr. Priego’s approach but believed that he had overtaken his vehicle, and therefore continued to back up. This caused him to collide with the driver’s door of Mr. Priego’s vehicle. As he was unaware of the impact, Mr. Albritton continued to back up, pushing Mr. Priego’s vehicle onto Woodruff Terrace. This caused extensive damage to the Mr. Priego’s vehicle, which was removed by K&K Towing and Recovery.

Neither driver sustained injuries and were both issued with case cards and follow up instructions by Officer Jones.
