On April 21, 2021 Officer B D Borah was dispatched to the scene of an accident on I-20 East at Mile Marker 224.
A Chevrolet Cruze driven by Mr. D Scott, a Honda Accord driven by Ms. A Love and a Nissan Versa driven by Ms. N Al-Hadad were involved in a collision.
Ms. Al-Hadad had stopped on the shoulder of the I-20 at Mile Marker 224 to avoid a collision in an unrelated incident. Ms. Love had stopped in the left lane to avoid the same incident. Mr. Scott was traveling in the left lane of the I-20 East.
Ms. Al-Hadad stated that her vehicle was struck from behind by Ms. Love’s vehicle. Ms. Love stated that she was also struck from behind by Mr. Scott’s vehicle.
Mr. Scott stated that he saw the unrelated collision in the left lane but was not able to stop before colliding with Ms. Love’s vehicle.
All three vehicles sustained extensive damage and were removed by Hanson’s Wrecker.
Ms. Al-Hadad complained of injury to the left side of her body but opted to have her mother drive her to the hospital. Mr. Scott was transported to Atlanta Medical Center North by Grady EMS for treatment to his arm and shoulder.
Mr. Scott was cited in terms of O.C.G.A. 40-6-49 “Following Too Closely."
The accident was reported by the Cobb County Police Department.
