Grass Cuttings Leads to an Accident on West Strickland St. (Douglasville)

On July 01, 2021, Officer J Stager was dispatched to the scene of an accident on West Strickland Street east of South Flat Rock Road.

The accident occurred at 10:52.

Mr. S Howell was driving a Mazda B 3000 and Ms. K Dickinson was driving a Chevrolet Malibu LTZ.

Both vehicles were traveling east on West Strickland Street.

Mr. Howell stated that he was traveling behind Ms. Dickinson’s vehicle and a grass cutting crew had just mowed an area adjacent to the highway.

Mr. Howell further stated that grass clippings were on the roadway and as he attempted to apply his brakes, his vehicle slid into the rear of Ms. Dickinson’s vehicle.

Ms. Dickinson stated that as she brought her vehicle to a stop, Mr. Howell’s vehicle rear-ended her vehicle.

Neither driver sustained any injuries.

No damage was sustained by Mr. Howell’s vehicle and slight damage was sustained by Ms. Dickinson’s vehicle.

Both vehicles were removed by their respective drivers.

Mr. Howell was found to be at fault for the accident.

The weather, surface condition, and light condition were all good.

The accident was reported in Douglasville, Douglas County.
