Impatience Leads to Accident (Cherokee)

On November 2nd, 2024, Landon Mathis and Rhett Downey were involved in an automobile accident on Cumming Highway.

Both Vehicles were traveling westbound towards East Cherokee Drive. Downey then slowed down and attempted to turn left into the Kroger parking lot. Mathis was driving behind Downey and crossed the double yellow line into the wrong direction of traffic in an attempt to pass Mathis' vehicle. As a result, Mathis' vehicles front side struck the drivers rear side of Downeys vehicle. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage from the accident.

Mathis was found at fault for the accident and was cited with driving on wrong side of the road, improper passing and was arrested for DUI.
