LEAVING THE SCENE (FORSYTH)

On April 10, 2021 Officer C R Capobianco was dispatched to the scene of an accident at the intersection of Peachtree Parkway and Sharon Road.

A Subaru Forester driven by Mr. J Tidmore and a Chevrolet Bolt EV driven by Ms. A Pothu collided at the intersection of Peachtree Parkway and Sharon Road.

Mr. Tidmore was turning left on the green arrow traffic signal at the intersection when Ms. Pothu’s vehicle struck the back passenger side of his vehicle. Ms. Pothu was turning right at the intersection.

Mr. Tidmore fled the scene of the accident but Ms. Pothu had noted his vehicle licence plate which she provided to the officer. Mr. Tidmore was located shortly thereafter. He stated that he had left the scene as he had an active arrest warrant against him.

Ms. Pothu stated that Mr. Tidmore’s vehicle had struck hers as she was turning right onto Sharon Road. He advised her that he was unable to remain at the scene as “he had legal issues”.

When questioned as to whether she turned on a green arrow, Ms. Pothu was unsure. She stated that as other vehicles moved forward, so did she, and began to turn right.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage but were driven from the scene by their respective drivers.

As there were no witnesses to the accident, no fault could be determined.

However, Mr. Tidmore was cited and arrested in terms of O.C.G.A. 40-6-270 “Hit and Run”.

The accident was reported in Forsyth County.
