Left Hand Turn Accident at Cumberland Boulevard

According to Cobb County Police Reports on December 5, 2020, Tamyia Lott of Rochester, New York, was ticketed for violation of traffic-controlled device at the intersection of Cumberland Parkway and Cumberland Boulevard.

Lott stated that she was traveling in lane number three westbound on Cumberland Boulevard and believed that her light turned green and proceeded through the intersection. As she proceeded through the intersection, So Han of Atlanta, Georgia, was making a left-hand turn. Han's car struck the back of Lott's vehicle causing disabling damage to both vehicles.

A witness to the accident advised to the reporting officer that he was behind Han's vehicle and observed a green arrow giving their lane the right-away to turn into 1000 Cumberland Mall.

This accident highlights the importance of driving defensively and knowing which traffic lights are designated for your lane.
