Merging Lanes Leads to Accident (Union City)

On July 12th 2025, Vernessia Jackson and Chance Scott were involved in an automobile accident on Buffington Rd near the intersection of Flat Shoals Drive.

Jackson stated that she was traveling southbound on Bluffington Rd, approaching the intersection of Flat Shoals Rd. She also stated that Scott had accelerated quickly from behind her and cut her off. Scott stated to police that she was already traveling southbound in the turn only lane when Jackson merged into the lane causing both vehicles to collide. Both vehicles sustained functional damage from the accident. Jackson was found at fault for the accident and was cited with Improper Lane Change.
