Rear End Collison on Tara Blvd (Jonesboro)

On June 23, 2021, Officer N Siefken was dispatched to the scene of an accident at Tara Boulevard north of South Avenue.

The accident occurred at 16:30.

Mr. J Jones was driving a Toyota Camry and Mr. S Galvan was driving a Ford Crown Victoria.

Both vehicles were traveling northbound on Tara Boulevard past the intersection with South Avenue.

Mr. Jones stated that as he passed the intersection, he noticed vehicles in front of him had stopped.

He applied his brakes but could not avoid a rear-end collision with Mr. Galvan’s vehicle.

Mr. Galvan stated that he had stopped for traffic when his vehicle was rear-ended by Mr. Jones’ vehicle.

Neither driver sustained any injuries.

Mr. Jones’ vehicle sustained extensive damage and was removed by Tara Wrecker.

Mr. Galvan’s vehicle did not sustain any damage and was removed by himself.

Mr. Jones was cited in terms of O.C.G.A. 40-6-49 “Following too closely”.

The weather, surface conditions and light were all good.

The accident was reported in Jonesboro, Clayton County.
