On April 26, 2024 Dawntae Hayes and Robinson Merchan were involved in an accident near the intersection of Glenridge Drive and the I-285 E off ramp.
Hayes was traveling straight through the intersection heading south on Glenridge Drive when he failed to stop at a red light causing his vehicle to crash into Merchans car. Merchan had a green light and was turning left through the intersection when his vehicle was struck.
Hayes' vehicle had functional damage while Merchan's car was towed from the scene with disabling damage. The officer on the scene reviewed footage from a close traffic camera and determined Hayes to be at fault for running the red light. Hayes was cited with failure to obey traffic control device.
