Running Red Light Lands Man in Hospital (Sandy Springs)

On May 16, 2021 Officer C D Tenety was dispatched to the scene of an accident at the intersection of Hammond Drive and Concourse Parkway.

The accident occurred at 19:36.

Mr. L Stinson was driving a Nissan Versa and Miss T Whitfield was driving a Hyundai Veracruz.

Mr. Stinson stated that he was traveling east on Hammond Drive and as he proceeded through the intersection of Concourse Parkway, the passenger side of his vehicle was struck by Miss Whitfield’s vehicle.

Miss Whitfield stated that she had right of way through the intersection on a green traffic signal.

Two independent witnesses to the accident stated that Miss Whitfield had jumped a red traffic signal and caused the collision.

Both drivers and a passenger in Mr. Stinson’s vehicle sustained visible injuries. AMR Unit 2815 transported Mr. Stinson and his passenger to North Fulton Hospital. Ms. Whitfield was transported by AMR Unit 8217 to Northside Atlanta Hospital.

As. Ms. Whitfield has her firearm on her person, which she could not take into the hospital, she requested that SSPD place it into property and evidence for safekeeping. Officer Tenety complied with this request.

Both vehicles were removed from the scene by A-Tow Wreckers.

The accident was reported in Sandy Springs, Fulton County.
