On April 9, 2021 Officer R Souza was dispatched to the scene of an accident at East-West Connector west of S Cobb Drive southeast.
A Nissan Murano driven by Ms. Martha Hage and a Toyota Prius driven by Mr. A Friedl collided. Ms. Hage was traveling eastbound on the East-West Connector in the right turn lane. Mr. Friedl was stopped at a yield sign in the right turn lane, facing eastbound on the same road.
Mr. Friedl stated that he was at a complete stop when he felt his vehicle being rear-ended. A conflicting version given by Ms. Hage stated that Mr. Friedl stopped suddenly in front of her. She felt drowsy and did not see this, and the front of her vehicle struck Mr. Friedl’s rear bumper.
The weather was cloudy bit the road surface and light conditions were good.
There was slight damage to both vehicles, but neither driver reported sustained any injury.
Ms. Hage was found to be at fault and was cited in terms of O.C.G.A. T40-6-49, “Following Too Closely”.
The accident was reported in Smyrna, Cobb County.
