1. Rear-End Chain Reaction on Austell Road at Pair Road
A three-vehicle rear-end collision occurred on southbound Austell Road north of Pair Road on June 27 around 1:45 PM. Yackeline Lizbeth Soto Segobiano, 20, in a black 2015 Ford Mustang (Unit 1) struck the rear of a green Ford F-150 (Unit 2) driven by Adam Blake Lindsey, 40. The F-150 then made contact with a third vehicle.
No injuries were reported. Soto Segobiano was cited for following too closely.
Austell Road continues to see frequent rear-end crashes during afternoon traffic. Extra following distance is critical when traffic is stopping and starting near intersections.
2. Hit-and-Run on Cooper Lake Road at Cooper Lake Drive
A dramatic hit-and-run unfolded at the intersection of Cooper Lake Road and Cooper Lake Drive on June 26 around 4:10 PM. Richelle Ailene Caylor, 60, driving a black 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, ran a stop sign and struck a gray Acura RDX driven by Lamario Donte Young, 47. The impact spun Young’s vehicle approximately 180 degrees.
Caylor fled the scene but was later located after Fusus camera footage clearly captured the crash. She was arrested and charged with reckless driving, hit-and-run, failure to maintain lane, running a stop sign, and other violations. Children on scooters were in the area shortly before the crash.
Cooper Lake Road has emerged as a high-risk corridor. Drivers should remain alert at stop-controlled intersections and report suspicious behavior immediately.
3. Road-Rage Rear-End on Old Sewell Road
A road-rage incident escalated into a rear-end collision on Old Sewell Road (off Lower Roswell Road) on June 27 around 2:23 PM. John Louis Griffin, 56, in a silver Chevrolet Colorado was brake-checked after an earlier confrontation, causing Waseem A. Shad, 33, in a gray Kia Forte to rear-end him.
Both drivers were arrested. Griffin faced charges for improper stopping, while Shad was cited for reckless and aggressive driving.
Aggressive driving and road-rage situations continue to turn minor traffic moments into crashes. Stay calm and create space instead of engaging.
