WET ROAD CONDITIONS (COBB COUNTY)

On April 25, 2021 Officer D K Gentry was dispatched to the scene of an accident at the intersection of I-75 Expressway and Ernest Barrett Parkway.


A Honda Accord driven by Mr. M Owens and a Nissan Versa driven by Ms. K Harrington were involved in a collision in the Kennesaw area of unincorporated Cobb County.


Both vehicles were traveling north on I-75 north of Ernest Barret Parkway.


Mr. Owens’ vehicle was in the right travel lane when a vehicle between his and Ms. Harrington’s vehicle changed lanes to overtake Ms. Harrington.


As Ms. Harrington was driving more slowly than Mr. Owens, he was unable to stop his vehicle in time and rear-ended Ms. Harrington’s vehicle.


Neither driver sustained any injuries.


Mr. Owens’ vehicle sustained slight surface damage and Ms. Harrington’s vehicle sustained functional damage. Both vehicles were removed by their respective drivers.


It had been raining and the road surface was wet.


Mr. Owens was cited in terms of O.C.G.A. 40-6-180 “Driving too Fast for Conditions”.


The accident was reported by the Cobb County Police Department.
