Deer Causes Accident in Forsyth County

In the early hours of the morning on 03/01/21, a vehicle struck a deer on the Buford Highway. The driver of a Porsche Cayenne, Ms. Augustine Murthy, was travelling west approaching the Forsyth County Line when the accident occurred.

Officer R J Wakim was dispatched to the scene and determined that neither Ms Murthy nor the prevailing road conditions had contributed to the collision with the animal. The weather was clear, the road condition was dry, and vision was unobscured.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage and Ms. Murthy was unharmed.

The above incident reinforces the maxim of safety first; in pristine driving conditions, the unexpected can nonetheless occur, and drivers should be always alert. Any impact with an animal can cause severe damage and injury and additional care should be taken when it is known that wildlife frequents the area.
