Driving Under the Influence Leads to an Accident on Mount Paran (Sandy Springs)

On May 16, 2021 Officer D T Futral was dispatched to the scene of an accident at Mount Paran Road west of Roswell Road.

The accident occurred at 00:29.

Mr. T Smith was driving a Toyota Yaris westbound on Mount Paran Road.

He was in front of 91 Mount Paran Road when his vehicle left the roadway on the right shoulder and struck a retaining wall on the resident’s property..

The vehicle then re-entered the roadway, where it came to rest sideways on.

Mr. Smith was not injured but lay down in the roadway until Officers arrived on the scene.

It was determined that Mr. Smith was too intoxicated to walk.

He was placed under arrest and cited in terms of O.C.G.A. 40-6-391A1 “Driving under the influence of alcohol”, O.C.G.A. 40-6-48 “Failure to maintain lane” and O.C.G.A. 40-2-8 “expired tag”.

Mr. Smith’s vehicle was removed from the scene by A-Tow.

The accident was reported in Sandy Springs, Fulton County.
