On May 25, 2021, Officer B Johnson was dispatched to the scene of an accident at the intersection of Hurricane Shoals Road Northwest and Old Norcross Road.
The accident occurred at 13:10.
Mr. J Cole was driving a Chevrolet Impala LT and Mr. C Shelton was driving a Dodge Challenger SXT.
Mr. Cole stated that he was traveling west on Hurricane Shoals Road and turned into Old Norcross Road on the green traffic signal.
M. Shelton stated that he was traveling west on Old Norcross Road when Mr. Cole came off Hurricane Shoals Road in front of him.
Mr. Shelton stated that he had a green traffic signal.
He further stated that Mr. Shelton apologized that he had run the red light as he was taking his wife to the doctor.
Mr. Cole met Mr and Mrs. Shelton at the doctor’s office at 771 Old Norcross.
Mrs. Shelton asked Mr. Cole what he was charging her husband with and stated that they were running later for her appointment, and that Mr. Shelton could have run the red light.
No citations were issued.
The accident was reported in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County.
