Per Cobb County Police Reports, Kaneshia Mayers of Decatur, Georgia, and Russell Shaw of Marietta, Georgia, were involved in an accident on September 23, 2022, at the intersection of Bentley and Terrell Mill Roads.
Mayers told the officer that she was traveling eastbound on Bentley Road when for unknown reasons her vehicle failed to stop when approaching Terrell Mill Road. When Mayers stepped out of her vehicle to check on Shaw, she apparently left the car in the wrong gear and the car began to roll backwards at a moderate speed.
Eventually Mayers vehicle slid down an embankment and came to a stop at the bottom of the ditch.
Mayers was cited for following too closely and not having proof of insurance.
